It’s That Time Again: BART 2009 Is Upon UsPosted on Tue, Dec 15, 2009
This year should mark the 3rd meeting of the music minds for the BART 2009 (Best Album Roundtable of 2009). Basically, a few years ago, I was talking with my cohort in crime, Dantrel “Friday Favecast” Robinson about how we need to gather a bunch of friends and colleagues who enjoy music as much as we do, and do a podcast discussing our favorite CD’s of the year.
After two successful podcast (the most recent one, I missed) we’ve decided to keep the party going. Along with Fave and myself, ready to return, we have our regular roundtable of panelists. EJ Flavors (music God and my Sensei from ejflavors.com), Kimberly “Butta” Hines (from soulbounce.com), Kansas City resident and music super-aficionado, KB (justsaykb.vox.com), and the MIXTRESS of R&B: DJ Diva (themixtress.com).
We’ll brake down the 10 CD’s that got the most votes from our group and then spend about an hour dissecting each CD and revealing why we loved or hated it so much.

To be honest, this was a great year for music. Currently, we’re trying to whittle down the initial list of albums:
Eric Roberson – Music Fan First
Mos Def – Ecstatic
Raekwon — Only Built for Cuban Linx II
Maxwell — BLACKsummers’ night
Ledisi — Turn Me Loose
Mayer Hawthorne — A Strange Arrangement
Zo! — ..Just Visiting Too
Black Noise — Black Noise
Tanya Morgan — Brooklynati
Slakah The Beatchild — Soul Movement, Vol. 1
JR & PH7 — The Standard
N’dambi — Pink Elephant
Saunders Sermons — Classic Delight
Adrian Younge — Black Dynamite
Andy Allo — UnFresh
Jaspects— The Polkadotted Stripe

Soulpersona — Soulacoster
