The Next Gadget: The Motorola SLVR L7

The power of my Sony Ericsson P800 is dwindling. I guess i'm getting old because the appeal of my smartphone and nonexistatnt. I now need less of a multifunctional device, and more of an actual 'phone'. So this weekend, me and wifey are upgrading our phones. She'll be getting something more practical for her business calls, and I'll be getting something to replace my P800 and my iPod.

The answer: The Motorola SLVR L7 exclusively (for now) from Cingular. Apparently, it has the little things I'll still crave (Instant Messaging, Bluetooth and online access to tether to my iBook, and of built in iTunes for my listening pleasure.)

One of my main problems with my current phone, is that I listen to music on my PSP, so i don't hear my phone when it rings. At least now, calls will pause the music in the SLVR. I'm sure someone will find a way to hack the "100 song only" crap.

I'm looking to replace my 5 year old Sony Ericsson T616. Can you believe it lasted that long! Way back then when bluetooth technology was not as popular as it is today, I was rockin wireless before it became the fashion statement it is today. I'm also lookin at the Motorola SLVR L7. I'm a former AT&T - now Cingular customer so the transition should be seamless upgrade! I can't imagine putting down my iPod, but being able to listen to music on my phone seems great! I'm waiting for a price drop!

I own the Razr, but I can't see myself shelling out money for the Slvr. If I already have an mp3 player, I don't need one for a phone. That's just a bit much.
