(b)12: The Return to Geek-dom


1. This weekend, me and Mrs. Kelley geeked out when we traded in your desktop machines for 2 laptops and a wireless network in the house! She got the Compaq Persario v2000 winbox, while I stayed true to my Mac roots and copped the Macintosh 12" Powerbook.

2. I already had an Apple Airport Extreme Wireless Base Station, that I thought would be a snap to set up. My powerbook was up and running with no problem. The Persario, on the otherhand of a monster!!! I did the geek thing and just f***ed with all the settings until the thing decided to start working. AND IT DOES. Now, we can sit on the couch infront of the TV and work at the same time.

3. Next: get the f***ing printer to work!!!!!!!

4. Mr. & Mrs. Kelley's movie recommendations of the week!:
THUMBS UP: Motorcycle Diaries, Bofinger, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Mrs. Kelley has sworn off horror films
THUMBS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY DOWN: Cabin Fever ("Pancakes... PANCAKES!!!!")

5. I got the 'reading bug' again, so i picked up a host of 'undead themed' novels. I just finish 'Reign Of The Dead: Apocalypse End' (I give it a "B-". Enjoyable read, but not very engaging). Next, i'll be diving into the Sci Fi /Zombie hybrid "The Dead Shall Inherit The Earth", and the end-time thriller: "The Darkening".

6. Cingular won't let me and Mrs. Kelley upgraded our phones!!! Looks like we'll have to 'lose' them...

7. Mrs. Kelley mixed up an "Apple & Pineapple Smoothie". Apple juice + Pineapple chunks and vanilla ice cream. SCREAMIN'!!!!!

8. Me and the Mrs. celebrated our 6 month anniversary. She cooked my an incredible pasta dish and we drank WAAAY TOO MUCH wine. Hangovers SUCK!!! (Sidenote: I learned that you match the color of your wine with the color of your meat! Cool!)

9. Man... with the new PowerBook my Mac lust is returning! I can't wait for MacOS 10.4 to be released on Friday!!

10. I'm addicted to Hawaiian Punch. Me and Mrs. went to Restaurant Depot and i grabbed a big slab of cans (24 i believe). This was on Saturday. Last night, we put the last 6-pack in the fridge. I need help. The 'fruit juice redness' is killing me!!!!

11. I've been playing God Of War for a couple of weeks now. This may be on of the greatest games i've ever played! I'm hooked. I get up at 2 in the morning to play this thing!!!

12. Does anyone else watch The Shield? The best show to quench your 'The Wire' thirst in the off season!!!! Aw, f*** it. I'd have to say it's the other way around. THIS IS MY FAVORITE SHOW RIGHT NOW!!!

yo!! i thought i was the only blogger out there hooked on god of war!! i finally finished it on spartan level, i unlocked a few codes and ish, if u want i got a slammin cheat sheet i can throw ur way, i dont want to ruin it for you but the final battle is HAWT!! but the darn pandora's box is waaaay overrated!! i'm lmao at matching the wine to the food color, i had to have a woman teach me that same trick...its the little things man that make u fall/stay in love isnt it?? peace homie (i didnt forget that thing i'm supposed to do, 24-48hours, i promise lol)

I know you're gonna have a good time with laptops with you. That's some cool stuff! You'll wonder how you lived without it! I had so much fun this weekend I missed The Shield! It's alright though. I got to see The Enterprise in a parallel universe! Talk about cool!!!!

Hands down Todd. The Shield is the only show I watch that in my opinion has gotten better episode-by-episode and season by season consistently. Have you seen every episode man? Congrats on the laptops and your new game!

I don't buy Hawiian Punch any more for my kids. It has way too much sugar and I'm conviced they add something in there that made them drink more like little junkies. Hawiian Punch= crack juice.
