Hey, Todd...your blog is the most beautifullest thing I've heard & seen a loooong time. However, I have a correction on your playlist: Ed O.G. & the Bulldogs' "Be A Father To Your Child" (not "I Gotta Have It") uses the Roy Ayers "Searching" track. Also, Mary J. Blige uses the song for a song on her "Share My World" that shares the same name as Roy's.
Peace,
Rich

Wow... WOW! I've known most of these samples but having them was another story. Some real head bangers there. I've been archiving a arby post for my "Know Your Samples!" thing. I might have to peep yours a little bit longer before unleashing mine.
I repeat, "wow!"

#14 was also used by Jay-Z for "Ain't No N***a." It was the first thing I thought of when I heard the track into. Yeah, I'm still listening to it!

Great idea for a radio.blog... well done my man! I've always been intrigued by how people find these samples, especially the more subtle ones.

Too hot! Also, you may want to add the classic Debarge cut "Stay with Me", which the Notorius B.I.G sampled for "One More Chance" - one of the hottest samples ever...
I believe it's in one of the other versions of The Crates. If not, you know it'll be in Vol. 4!

Oh my god!!!! Thank you soooo much for that, how beautiful are some of those tracks. Have been hunting the Erykha Badu one down for ages now.
Thanks again

Todd,
I'm really glad that I found your site. I was doing research after setting up a recording studio and was searching for the source of inspiration for Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth's 'They Reminisce Over You'. I'm a producer being assisted by the former President of BMG Classics Records towards building a new major independent label.
Feel free to holler. There could be some possibilities.
Thanks,
MoveMint

I found this page using google. I HAD to know what A Tribe Called Quest sampled for Electric Relaxation...and here it is!!!! I love that melody so much, you just don't KNOW. It's the most moving, most sumptuous, most beautiful jazz melody I have ever heard. ATCQ did pretty well by it, but I GOTTA get the original song.
